This brownish-grey tarantula has vivid metallic blue markings on the upper surface of its forelegs and pedipalps. It is a burrowing species that uses copious amounts of silk in the construction of its tunneled burrow, which may have more than one entrance. It is a fast-growing species with a defensive temperament that thrives best if given deep substrate in which to burrow.
